Not quite on the inactive list

 

My blog has taken a little bit of a hit due to various life events of late.

It's nothing bad. It's just busy. Vacations have played a part. Beckett magazine articles have played a part. I just sent off my second article in two weeks to them and I'm 10 minutes away from filing a bunch of images to them, too.

Hopefully with the mag writing completed for now, I can put the focus on the blog. But there is more family visiting ahead that will likely scrap tomorrow's posting. And I've got like two or three work meetings coming up. Plus there are TCDB trades I need to jump on -- in three cases, my fellow traders have already sent envelopes and I haven't even packaged stuff yet!

So, know that the posts appearing less often is not part of a new, mellow posting schedule (though that does sound nice). It's just stoopid life.

 

There are also the usual trade packages to get to, so let's get to one of those.

 

I received another package from Sportscards From The Dollar Store. It was the usual assortment of fancy Dodgers mixed with some Buffalo teams.

 

This envelope contained some autographs of former Dodgers prospects types. DJ Peters sure had a lot of Dodgers Bowman cards between 2016-20. His last known baseball address was last year in the Tigers organization and also the KBO league in South Korea.

 

Another autograph of another forgotten Dodger. I was kind of a Chris Withrow fan. That urge was solely based on me having a handful of fancy Withrow cards, I admit. Then he was traded to the Braves, made 46 appearance for them in one year and then flat-out disappeared.

 

 

Closer to present day but still a former Dodger. I've left this encased for now because Panini has sealed it and I'm following the rules. That also will never last. It's gonna be unsealed and then I will curse Panini because it doesn't fit in a regular page.

 

Ruiz is still doing decently for the Nationals but Will Smith is better.

 

 

More Former Dodger Squigglies! That's a very colorful card, I like it. Clayton Beeter was traded to the Yankees a couple years ago and he's still there, has spent this year between Double A and Triple A. I hope his advancement hasn't been delayed by having to sign 600 of these.

 

 

Hey, look, someone still on the team!

 

This isn't autographed but there's a cloth bit and candy canes and snowflakes in the clouds and that's better than scribbles any day. About the only thing Max Muncy does is hit home runs and walk. Oh, he gets out a lot, too, but I was focusing on the positive.

 

 

A selection of other Dodger needs. Maybe Jorge Orta is a dupe but it will automatically go to my 1982 O-Pee-Chee set, not that it is a completion quest of mine but it is A Collection.

 

 

Douglas is always good for a bunch of Bills. I am actively downsizing my Bills, keeping them to just one binder for as long as I can. The current guys are safe and so are the Fluties. The rest will go in the TBD stack.

 

 

Hockey additions. Always happy to see 1991-92 Pro Set, no I am not putting up a want list!

 

I'm downsizing Sabres even more than Bills. That Bowman Puppa doesn't have a chance, but the Upper Deck card probably does.

 

 

Finally, one last autograph of former Sabres enforcer Brad May. Cool! I don't have a lot of Sabres signatures.

 

I've already got a small stack of cards ready for a return to SCFTDS. But that was until life budged everything out of the way and exclaimed ME FIRST!

 

But I'm the determined sort. I'll get to it and all those other things eventually. I think you know that. I've only been writing this thing for 15 years.
