Night Owl Cards

I just want you to know that even as I write this, my grandmother's favorite quote -- "fools' names and fools' faces often appear in public places" -- is ringing in my head. Yes, that is a picture of me. On an Allen & Ginter card. More on that later. I received this card in the mail today from opoohwan from 2008 Allen & Ginter Card-scape . For some ungodly reason, he wants me to autograph it and send it back to him. He's creating a set featuring card bloggers, and since he collects autographs, too, I guess he wants our signatures. I'm much more at ease signing timesheets and checks and my life away than signing cards. But it's as close as I'll get to being a ballplayer, so I might as well humor him (and myself). I only hope that he stays with this project and completes the set. As much as I like Wicked and Troll , there doesn't need to be an aborted set of the 3 card musketeers floating around out there. This weekend may be the busiest two days of the entire work year, and the next three weekends won't be any picnic either. That means I don't have time for anything clever or thought-provoking today. All I can offer is a simple trade post. I know. That's dull. But I've had to stare at 2010 Topps Heritage posts all week. So now it's my turn to dish out a bit of boring. Fortunately, it hasn't been boring on the trade front at all. A couple weeks ago, transactions had trickled down to nothing. Then, in an instant, I'm scrambling to keep up. I'm starting to lose track of who needs cards from me. On Sunday, I hope to narrow that down. Also, this weekend, I hope to put up a poll on what I should call the 2010 Topps design. I liked the suggestions in the last post and it's time to settle on a name. 2010 Upper Deck may take some more time. Meanwhile, I've got a lot of transactions to show. Glenn Hubbard's facial expression sums up the day ahead for me. It's a day/night filled with Responsibility at my job. And I'm bracing for the grim tasks on the horizon. But I'm not going to get into it. I'll just say it involves talking to people who were put on this earth to haunt others, and doing things that I loathe. As an added bonus, the work day will be exceedingly long. And when I get home, I won't be satisfied with a job well done, because I will be too exhausted to think. So, there's no time for a proper post for the next 15 hours or so. But I do have a moment or two to avoid Responsibility. So here are some random cards and my thoughts on them: I don't have a lot of special cards that aren't Dodgers. But I have decided that when I come across the few that I do, I will offer them up in exchange for something that I am collecting.
