The 5,000-card giveaway was far more successful than I anticipated.
Long after the 20 entrants limit was reached, folks were still bellowing "I want a repack!" in the streets. But I had capped it at 20 because that's what I can afford.
So just to clarify who has won and all that, here are the 20 winners of 250-card repacks:
1. Jordan (Mint Condition)
2. Phil Abranowitz
3. The Diamond King
4. dayf (Cardboard Junkie)
5. Billy Suter
6, Ohio Tim
7. Death Stare Cards
8. Tim Dehring
9. Unknown (Ken in Missouri)
10. Pete Steinberg
11. Bo (Baseball Cards Come To Life)
12. Trevor P (Bump and Run Football Card Blog)
13. Kevin (Orioles Card "O" The Day)
14. Jeff B. - Wax Pack Wonders
15. buckstore cards (Sports Cards From The Dollar Store)
16. defgav (Baseball Card Breakdown)
17. Old Cards
18. simpson
19. Laurens (Card Buzz)
20. Kevin Bradley
That's the list.
The other people who requested repacks in the comments are on-deck, only if I don't get addresses for all of the above, and the on-deck folks are in order of when they commented. If I get all 20 addresses, then everybody else is out of luck. Thanks for playing. Sorry, I have no Rice-A-Roni for a consolation prize.
Now, here are the people who I either need addresses from still or I'm somewhat uncertain about their address:
I have everyone else's address.
So if the above six could email an updated address, that would help. I'll reach out in about a week if I don't hear from you (if I'm able to make contact anyway). UPDATE: All 20 addresses are in! Repacks will go to only those 20!
As for the 2008 Heritage black back cards, I plan to run the randomizer and declare a winner next week, hopefully midweek. Here are the people in the running for that if I've figured it out right:
1. Brett Alan
2. Kevin Bradley
3. Nachos Grande
4. Fuji
5. RunForeKelloggs
6. Derek
7. AndyNY2
8. jafronius
If there's still people who want to enter the Heritage giveaway, leave your name in the comments of yesterday's post. You have until 2 a.m. tonight eastern time (11 p.m. western).
I will start sending cards out probably the week of April 10th. As I mentioned, I'm likely going to the post office only once a week with 4 packages each time, so it'll take a few weeks to send out everything.
OK, so that's way too many explaining words and instructions. People come here for cards. So here are a handful.
Each of these are related to single-card gestures from generous folks that I've gained recently.
How about this thing?
This came from Kevin, The Diamond King. It was nice of him because he grabbed it at a recent show because he thought it was cool, but then he offered it up!
I love Walker Buehler cards, especially strange items like this. It was so weird with lights flashing off in my face that I didn't even notice that he was in his college uniform. But I have a number Vanderbilt Buehler cards and I do like them. This is now the snazziest one I own.
This arrived from Matt of Diamond Jesters.
It's a 2022 Topps Home Run Challenge insert and came with my recent Time Travel claim. I claimed this card, but was informed that it was already taken. The next thing I knew it was in my envelope! Nice! I don't know why that happened but a pleasant gesture!
This is the other card I claimed while Time Traveling. I'm sure I pulled a muscle requesting it. I love, love, love Coke cards from the early '80s. I want them all. This is one more off the list.
Also, the Frank Howard at the top of the post was a Time Travel claim from earlier. I forgot to post it and it's been bugging me for awhile.
Finally, one more from the year 1981.
I received this card from the editor of Beckett magazines, Mike!
Out of the blue I received an envelope with a personal note that said he received this signed card of Ron Cey while seeking autographs during spring training in the early 1980s. "It belongs in your collection," he said.
And so it is.
I didn't have the 1981 Topps card signed by Cey yet, so this works perfectly (It's not a quest to have every Topps issue signed by Cey, but I'm not going to say I don't want it to happen).
And those are some nice gestures coming my way.
And one of the reasons I'm trying to do this nice gesture with the giveaway.

I do many of my blog related trades via tcdb even though I read the blogs through RSS. it makes organizing anything to do with my cards a lot easier and honestly, I can't keep more than one trade in my head at a time
