I skipped the monthly card show today because we did get about five inches of snow last night and then the temperature promptly dropped below zero. So to get to the show I'd have to bundle up, clear off the car, shovel out the driveway, all in sub-zero conditions. It just didn't seem worth it.
The monthly show has made me soft. I used to risk driving an hour through lake-effect to get to a show when there was just 2 or 3 a year!
So, sorry, I will have no show wares to show off this time. But maybe someone will like what I have instead:
FREE CARDS!
Yes, I'm still downsizing. This is the third edition of attempting to rid cards from my house in hopes that someone else can use them. To recap, I'm trying to clear some room for cards that I want and shelving space to house those cards. That means scrapping cards that have long sat in boxes and a lot of it stuff that doesn't fit my style.
Like the last two times, I'm looking for one person to take them all, I'm not parceling them out. The first person who claims them in the comments gets them, as long as they can email me their address, too. Again, I don't know how much these will entice anyone but I've been pleasantly surprised the previous two times and these cards are just a little bit better.
Around 200 of the cards are from 1991 Upper Deck. This set obviously contains some good photos, but among the UD designs from the initial era, 1989-93, the 1991 set is my least favorite. I just don't like it. So it's a natural to get out of the house.
The rest of the cards run the gamut from other (mostly) '90s sets that I don't connect with or are duplicates. Sets represented include 1993 Ultra, 1993 Donruss, 1996 Pinnacle, 2011 Allen and Ginter and some '80s Fleer stickers -- but the good ones, that represent only one team, not those relentless "four teams per card" stickers.
There is a smattering of other sets -- just a few cards each -- for stuff like 1987 Sportflics, 1993 Topps, 1993 Leaf, etc. Things I never pull out to look at and definitely were never binder fodder.
So if you're interested in the lot, you know what to do. I realize that a Saturday may not be the best time for giving away some cards but I'll leave this giveaway open for a week and link it in future posts if I don't find a volunteer right away.
If a week goes by, then I take matters into my own hands. Don't worry, I don't have a wood chipper or a paper shredder, but these cards won't be residing in the card room anymore, one way or another.

Which might end up through a shredder in shards.
The weather you had sounded brutal indeed,
And now you're getting rid of cards you don't need!
I hated the fact that 90-92 UD looked too much alike.
