I just finished another yearly sort of my Dodgers dupes boxes. It took a long time, as usual.
Thanks to giving away some Dodgers cards recently, I freed up some room. But there are still plenty of extras that will probably be with me for the rest of my days.
I don't want that to be the case with many of my other cards.
I alluded to this during my anniversary post a couple of months ago. I need to downsize. You've seen my card room. It's fairly big. There are two large shelving units that are packed. There are boxes stored on another shelf and in a couple of drawers, and in a closet. I am officially out of room.
I don't want to stop collecting, but to keep going, I need to clear out some space. My plan is to remove some/many of the cards in boxes and then I can take some of the cards that are now in binders and shift them to boxes, freeing up some space on the shelves.
So what happens to the cards I'm taking out of boxes??
Ah yes. That. I'm getting rid of them.
You just saw the first stack of them that I want out of the house.
So what's the plan, night owl?
Uh, well, some of you aren't going to like it. I'm hoping someone reading this will be willing to take them off my hands. All in one shot. I'm not going to spend time portioning them out to various collectors. These cards aren't worth that, as you'll see in a minute.
If no one is interested in them, I'll see if there's a place nearby that will take them. If not, I will toss them. Without a tinge of regret.
Cold-hearted, but it must be done. Nothing here is worth selling. A sampling:
(Sorry the photo is dark, the weather's been miserable lately). These cards are mostly the dregs of my collection. That stack is filled with Bowman cards from the last 10-plus years of never-made-it or barely-made-it prospects. Other cards include Panini draft picks of a similar nature, those underwhelming Panini Triple Play cards from 2012 and 2013, the 1992 Baseball Enquirer set, the 1995 Phil Rizzuto set, etc.
All told, it's almost 300 cards. I'll send the whole thing out to the first person who says they want it. You just got to email me an address (nightlite77@yahoo.com).
There will be other downsizing sessions after this one, with the cards getting progressively better (but nothing super desirable -- come on, that stuff is staying with me!).
As for looking to trade this stuff through TCDB or throwing it up on Facebook Marketplace or whatever, I want this to take as little of my time as possible. Part of me is annoyed I'm even writing about this.
So, that's the deal. If you want the cards, let me know. First come, first serve. You've got a week from today (11/10) to alert me. After that, I take matters into my own hands.

I organized about 1/3 of my collection maybe 10 years ago. I kept thinking that I’d get some more stuff done but…
I’m actually considering deleting my collection on TCDb and starting over.
I think I could toss most Panini cards without any regrets. Not sure about Topps products. I understand not wanting to mess with them though.
Take it a step at a time.
