Still turned out OK

I've been part of a lot of Nachos Grande group breaks over the years. It's an easy way to get cards of my team without suffering through blasters that insist on adding White Sox and Marlins, as well as landing some cards from those years when I was in a dark place (i.e. not collecting).

I don't have the funds all the time so sometimes I leave and then come back and I came back recently for another one of his Breakers Club breaks through Discord.

I always have fun with the breaks. Chris is great, he finds great sets to open and everything is done on the collectors' terms, they get the cards when they want them, Chris isn't making any money off of the whole thing, he's just trying to pay for the boxes.

So it was a surprise when I ordered up my cards a week or so ago and discovered maybe a day later that not all the cards were there. I tore the house apart looking for them, I even went through the garbage -- the messy, icky garbage -- in search of them, I've been known to mistakenly throw stuff out that. But they were nowhere to be found (this was at the same time that I misplaced a gift and if that doesn't alarm you that you're finally losing it).

I was stumped. But Chris was stumped, too. He said that had never happened before and I can see why. The cards were meticulously packaged, I made note of it as I was opening it. He scoured his place and then alerted fellow break participants in case they had been mistakenly sent to someone else. But the cards still haven't been uncovered.

The best that I can determine is one team bag out of the 9 or 10 that I got went missing. There were a couple Dodgers I know that had to be in that team bag, a 2024 Bowman Ohtani parallels (oof) and a Bobby Miller Mosaic insert I know are missing. Also I know some 2024 Donruss Dodgers are gone but I've since gotten most of them from other sources, so really it's no big deal.

Chris didn't like it though and I get it. He found some Dodgers to make up for it and really the cards he sent are better than what was missing -- as far as fitting into my collection.

If you read Nachos Grande you know he acquired a case of this year's Allen & Ginter and I don't know how many sets you can build from that, but it's got to be a solid amount. These are my first 2024 A&G Dodgers -- I have bought almost none of it.

I don't like this Gypsy Queen-pretender set, seeing them all together doesn't make me like it more. So I best find the rest of the Dodgers I'm missing and be done with it. Let's look at a few more appeal cards from the same set.

A swatch piece from the World Series MVP. Very nice. A fairly good design though I've never understood why A&G decided to branch off from the traditional framed hits with other looks.

Here's a sharp-looking framed card now. This isn't my first Andy Pages autograph but it is the first of him as a major league player.

Finally a nice Shohei Ohtani box-topper to chase the blues away! This is great and, yes, the only reason I can safely say that is because I have pages for this size.

I did get several Dodgers for my collection from the original break but I've already filed those away and honestly can't remember them all. One of them is the 2023 A&G Jackie Robinson mini (A&G) back at the top of the post -- and that was one of the cards that I was looking forward to most.

I will be returning to future Breakers Club breaks when I can. This isn't stopping me. The only thing stopping me is cash.

Owl, thanks for the cards! Since you're not on X anymore and I haven't joined the other site yet I figured this was the best way to reach out for now. - Joe

Nachos is great. Was nice of him to send you stuff. I can't say I have ever thrown cards away, but I have been known to lose plenty in my house!
