Almost no words

A member of The Infield is gone. The Dodgers announced today that Davey Lopes passed away at age 80. He was a central part of my earliest years as a baseball fan. That 1976 Topps Record-Breaker card is in the top 10 of cards that meant the most to me as a boy.

RIP.

Another one from the 1981 set is gone. Former pitcher Ken Clay also passed away recently.

He was a talented player.

Being from Chicago, I remember when Davey played for the Cubs in 1984. An odd sight but a welcomed one.

May he rest in peace
Former Padres coach included in Padrographs. I lived in Rhode Island for awhile and followed him in the Dodgers years.
