The revised best Dodger cards ever made countdown

This card no longer makes the top 100 of the best Dodger cards ever made.

Neither does this one.

And this one has never cracked the top 100.

I told you this was a cutthroat operation.

So, here is an update of the top 100 that I gave you in piecemeal fashion about eight months ago. This is the file that I will update in the future as new cards arrive.

I'm going to show all the cards on this post and I'll add it to the sidebar when I have time. I'll also add commentary when I have time. But for now you'll have to be happy with pictures.

Glad to see Charlie Neal made it. There is just something about those '57s shot at Ebbetts Field that make them special in my eyes.

Some wonderful cards in there.

Trade ya. What do you want for 'em?

Seriously, that's a whole lotta Sweet Dodger Blue! Just to pick out one, I was glad to see the '76 Lopes. Might be one of the best cards of the decade. The turning-two icon Topps used for second baseman, the great blue & red (no pink!) of the card design, plus that great heroic shot of Lopes and his magical mustache equals perfection. Thanks for sharing!
#28 surely is a Masterpiece. Maybe I should become a Dodger collector. Kidding...only kidding.

If anyone in the blogosphere holds a '2013 Best Single Post' competition, this post is getting my vote. I may even stuff the ballot like Giants fans did for the ASG last year...

A simply stunning group of cards, Greg. Fantastic stuff!

Fantastic list!
If I had to pick a favorite, I'd have to say #90. That just can't be unseen.

Lookin' good, chief, though damn it, '56 Gil needs to sneak in somehow. Lose that Piazza at 92 or one of them no-good Russell Martins! It's *GIL*. I know the main pic got used 3 years in a row! It's still one of the best damn cards ever.

One helluva list... there are a few cards I'm definitely going to track down for my collection. Two of my favorite Dodgers cards are the 56T Jackie Robinson (actually my favorite card all-time) and 2010 Chicle Jackie Robinson (your header inspired me to pick one up).

Regarding the 1962 Wills card, sliding into 3rd base. #42 of giants has to be pitcher Bob Bolin. but he never played 3B. So I wonder how Bolin could be covering 3rd base? Maybe the photo did not fit the actual 104th stolen base but just used as an action shot??

I actually covered that in this post (I thought it was Bolin, too): http://nightowlcards.blogspot.com/2011/07/sick-scoreboard-card-pt-8.html

It's not a 42 but a 12.

Fun list! For sheer aesthetic beauty, it's hard to leave either the 1953 Bowman Campanella or the 1956 Topps Furillo off any list. I also like the 1954 Topps Gilliam (with colorized blue eyes) and the 1960 team-issue postcard of Duke Snider in a right-handed batting pose. As for the Wills stolen-base card, that's clearly Jim Davenport (#12)at third. Somehow, the shadowing on the photo only makes it look like #42.

I love that Topps 1974 Steve Garvey card. I remember when I got it as a kid. Loved it back then and it still brings back good memories today.
