Thank you for your support

Today, I'm feeling pretty good about the way things are going. That's not to say everything's cool. Let's just say that I like today and leave it that. I hate being cryptic. But there are just some things not meant for the blog. That's hard for me to accept as I've never been one of those "all-business" card blogs. The emotions of the day seep into everything that I do, and that includes collecting. This blog isn't any more immune to what's going on in life than anything else that's important to me. If things turn out fine, then I'm sure I'll babble about it on here. But in the meantime, I just want to say thanks for all the well-wishes. It means a lot. I wish I could do more for you than this trade post, but that's about all I have time to do. Besides, what kind of post is more thankful than a trade post? Thanksgiving should be a day of trade posts. People giving thanks for cards instead of Aunt Evelyn's green be...

Lineage. Done.

Hey! I completed a set released in 2011! So what if it's Feb. 12, 2012! A complete set is a complete set! 2011 Topps Styrofoam Peanuts ... I mean, Lineage is finished! Those are the last four cards that I needed. Lineage just edged out Allen & Ginter for the 2011 set that I completed first. I was really rooting for Allen & Ginter because A&G is better than Lineage in almost every way. But Lineage vs. A&G isn't a fair fight. Lineage is 200 cards. A&G is 350. Lineage has no short-prints. A&G has 50. If I wasn't so ambivalent about the Lineage base set, I probably would've completed it long before A&G. Instead, Kyle4KC of Jabo's Baseball Card Blog sent me the last four Lineage cards that I needed, while I'm still one card short of completing Allen & Ginter. The last four cards sum up my attitude about Lineage. I've owned the Wainwright and Berkman cards before -- in fact I pulled them in my very first packs ...

My one-card contribution to the one-card challenge

I'm happy to say that I've been notified of at least two transactions that are in the works because of The One-Card Challenge. Hopefully, there will be many more. Any day in which someone can finish off a set is a great day, really. One of those people on the verge of finishing a set is Mark from Mark's Ephemera . Not only will he have the final card in what, no doubt, is a very cool collection, the '94 Ted Williams Company Negro League subset. But he'll probably end up with a couple of cards from me for devising this logo for The One-Card Challenge. Isn't it charmingly retro? The logo -- it's based on the '63 Fleer checklist -- has booted my lame attempt on the sidebar. From this point on, click on that logo to get to the post where you can leave your pleas to finish off a set, or to see if you have a card for someone else that will finish off a set. I'm still tempted to turn this into a page of its own -- much like Mark's Got It. Got ...
