Making things right

One of the things that I didn't like about the way 2013 ended was my inability to send out card packages. Believe me, it was not because of laziness or delinquency. As you all have experienced, the natural enemy of sending out card packages to your fellow collectors is "life". Life preys on innocent cards just yearning to be where they belong.

In the final month or so, I dealt with the big four of life: time constraints, lack of cash, freakish weather and illness. Needless to say, all card mailing came to a halt because, let's be real, the cards were terrified to go outside.

But now it's 2014 and things are slightly calmer. I hope to send out some packages -- finally -- on Friday. And then regular package-sending as circumstances allow.

In the meantime, I thought I'd make things right by letting those who are getting packages know that they're getting them -- finally -- and maybe show a card that will be hopping into that package.

For example, Nachos Grande is getting a package before the month is out. And that King Louis XIV card you see up top is headed in his direction.

The Lost Collector is getting a package -- despite his dislike of lists -- and Brett Gardner will be joining fellow hated Yankees in the package.

My Cardboard Habit is getting package -- as soon as I replenish my Rangers. And Mega Box Yu will be part of the assembly.

Garveyceyrusselllopes is getting a package and this card has been promised for a long, long time. It will finally depart some time this month.

Scott Crawford On Cards! is due for a package, and as soon as check is ever-changing want list, some cards will hook up with Boss & Power in the next few weeks.

Shoebox Legends will be receiving Supersaurus and a few other well-placed cards in the next couple of weeks.

Lifetime Topps will be receiving this very red Joey Votto card. It might be the reddest Reds card ever. I know he likes that.

The Angels, In Order will receive this mini of C.J. Wilson as thanks for the card package he sent many weeks ago.

Fernando, who is on Twitter but not the blogs, will be getting some old-school Dodgers from me. Very soon. I promise.

Waxaholic will be getting this very angry Heritage Update card of Mike Gonzalez along with some other Bravos. I'll send it in 2 or 3 weeks. Who knows when it will arrive.

Now, there are other people due packages but I can't show any of the cards in the package because they've been sealed up already.

But that's good news for them because that means they'll be the first out the door!

So here's who can expect packages first:

Cardboard Junkie

Cardboard Catastrophes

Mark's Ephemera

Swing And a Pop-Up

And Jonathan, another Twitter follower.

I really have forgotten most of the cards in those packages, so I hope they work for you.

Plus there are a few folks who I haven't gathered cards up for yet, but are on the list once I get all of the above out of the way. So, Community Gum, Baseball Card Breakdown, Bleedin' Brown and Gold, Trader Crack's, Texas Rangers Cards and The Junior Junkie can expect cards hopefully before the month is done. And there are a couple of people who have emailed me that I said I'd get back to.

After that, THEN ... THEN ... I can look up the people I've forgotten.

Heh.

As always, you can send me a reminder.

I'll make it right.

Just got to fend life off with a stick every once in awhile.

My brother-in-law and father-in-law appreciate your giving the USPS so much business. They can continue to draw their pensions thanks to you.

Thank you.
I will be sure to make a list of my favorite cards you send me.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one a little behind on shipping out packages. That's the great thing about January 1st... we all get to have a fresh start. Happy New Year!
I'm going to use my Jedi mind trick on you..."You don't want to send Rangers to anyone else."

Did it work?
