Sort of rhymes with Cy Young.

But whether it rhymes or not, he will win the award.

Kershaw is the most exciting pitcher for my favorite team that I have experienced in my lifetime. More exciting than Hershiser, Nomo, Ramon Martinez, Fernando, Welch, Sutton, etc. (I don't count Koufax and Drysdale because I had just turned 4 when Drysdale retired and was barely walking when Koufax quit).

Congrats, Clayton.

Too bad they couldn't squeeze you in for one more start so you could match your uniform number.

He's gotta win the Cy Young. I think Matt Kemp may sneak in and steal the MVP as Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder split the vote, too.

ditto to the others. nice work, nice post, sweet cards. my personal fave is the diamond cut vs. the diamondbacks.
Nice tribute. I think it's amazing what he and Kemp have done on that team.

He won 21 games but was only "Player of the Game" 20 times. What happened?

July 15 vs. Arizona.

Kershaw gave up 4 runs in the 7th in a 6-4 win by the Dodgers. Matt Kemp got Player of the Game because he homered, knocked in 4 runs, and hit a two-run single in the top of the 7th to put L.A. up 6-0 right before Arizona scored its 4 runs.

It's really a testament to Kershaw's domination that he won Player of the Game 20 out of those 21 wins. I don't credit a pitcher with POG very often just because he gets the win.

He really ended the argument in the month of September.
