Some of those mid-80s designs gave me facial ticks. I bought Oriole team sets, maybe a box and then in about 1990 I gave up completely.

I'd pick '85 as an improvement to all the rest, it has team logos and isn't as 'busy' as some of the others.Commishbobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18069472376708715755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-20699126296649429612012-05-19T12:49:47.095-04:002012-05-19T12:49:47.095-04:00Wow. Whereas I would question the judgment of anyone who thinks 1991 Donruss is an improvement over anything.

1986 Donruss just screams quintessential 1980's to me in a good way.

As for 1985 Donruss, I seem to be one of the few collectors who actively dislikes black borders on baseball cards.bailorghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16537136157235692901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-92099687819912765142012-05-19T00:23:46.635-04:002012-05-19T00:23:46.635-04:00No real opinion on 2002 Donruss. Nothing stands out (although I kind of like the stars and team-colored borders from 2001).night owlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11673973790245316059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-42001321958427374782012-05-18T23:09:03.577-04:002012-05-18T23:09:03.577-04:001990 Donruss was my first exposure to baseball car...1990 Donruss was my first exposure to baseball cards. I liked it enough to keep buying. I loved the '93 set. Glossy and clean design. '96 however I avoid like the plague. Horrible. Simply horrible.

Speaking of Donruss, I just busted a box of 2002. Where would you put that set on your list?flywheelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17404740580161509052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-37640872292458779362012-05-18T20:29:43.877-04:002012-05-18T20:29:43.877-04:00I have a special fondness for the 1986 design main...I have a special fondness for the 1986 design mainly because it was the year I first started buying packs. Plus, I was in sheer awe of the fact that it cost almost twice as much per pack at the local card shop as Topps (35 cents vs. 60 cents.)maddinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08493650721714521989noreply@blogger.com
