He seems like a great guy and I appreciate that a Yankees hater can appreciate some of the underrated great players of the game!!! The 78 is best btw by far, its a nice cardDrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17224880509770382577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-15910640067497062262010-10-21T14:34:36.656-04:002010-10-21T14:34:36.656-04:00Its funny, when I was a kid playing backyard baseb...Its funny, when I was a kid playing backyard baseball I never announced my self as a power hitter. I always went with Lou (Whitaker), Ozzie (Smith) or Scott (Fletcher)... I went through a Hubie (Brooks) phase and I guess he had some pop... My fav is the '78, but the horizontal wide angle view of the '71 is awesome!Collective Trollhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04214312372172286275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-14113320411505291492010-10-21T10:32:41.686-04:002010-10-21T10:32:41.686-04:00Never heard of him (before my time), but cool stor...Never heard of him (before my time), but cool story.

Switch hitter too?Sharpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04715669350824994128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-41117348531299555332010-10-21T10:31:19.040-04:002010-10-21T10:31:19.040-04:00You need a spot for a non vote since they are all ...You need a spot for a non vote since they are all Yankee cards.AdamEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12107347958456472504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2700049103080920994.post-50727627099641756362010-10-21T10:02:49.789-04:002010-10-21T10:02:49.789-04:00It's a toss-up between the 1971 and 1978 cards...It's a toss-up between the 1971 and 1978 cards. He's better than some in the HOF (thanks Frankie Frisch and your nepotism), but to me he's in the Hall Of Very Good (I'm pretty strict HOF wise).

For the most part, he played in an era that most all Yankee fans and sportswriters want to forget.

I remember him in the WS for the Yanks at the end of his career. He exuded quiet grace, which was NOT the MO for Reggie, Billy, and the rest.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
